Founded in 1963, the National Museum of the United States Navy collects, preserves, displays, and interprets naval artifacts and artwork to inform, educate, and inspire naval personnel and the general public. The Navy is preparing a new Cold War Gallery to tell the inspiring yet little-understood story of the roles that the men and women of the Navy played in our nation's 50-year conflict with the Soviet Union. When completed, the Cold War Gallery will be a one-of-a-kind educational experience for Americans of all ages.
To raise funding necessary for this initiative, the Navy has asked the Naval Historical Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, to seek out sponsoring partners who share this vision. Supporters will be recognized by a variety of permanent signage in the Cold War Gallery, based on the donor's giving level.
